The club’s longest-serving player, who acted as secretary, treasurer and captain over 14 years.
Charles Eastlake Smith
An England international forward with Palace, he was secretary and captain for the club’s final two seasons.
James Turner (pictured)
The goalie was elected to the first FA committee in December 1863 and became its second treasurer.
Alfred Howard Lloyd
Scored Palace’s first FA Cup goal and is a descendent of Sampson Lloyd, who co-founded Lloyds Bank.
Alexander Morten
CPFC’s veteran keeper was named captain for England in his country’s second international fixture.
Laurence Harding Neame
Was appointed joint-captain with teammate Douglas Allport for the 1873/74 season.
George Rutland Barrington Fleet
A famous singer, actor and comedian, known by his stage name Rutland Barrington.
Robert Kennett Kingsford
The front man was a clinical finisher and capped for England while with the Wanderers.
Francis Luscombe
He played up front for Palace and captained England at rugby, later becoming RFU vice-president.
Arthur Henry Patrick Savage
The Palace goalkeeper was selected for England’s meeting against Scotland in March 1876.
William Broderick Cloete (pictured)
A famous owner and breeder of race horses, he sadly died in the sinking of the Lusitania by a German U-boat in May 1915.
Theodore Lloyd
Another Lloyd brother at the club, he is placed third in Palace’s all-time goal-scoring chart.
Charles John Chenery
The Palace forward is the only England player to appear in the first three internationals.
Walter Dorling
He ironically appeared against Palace for Barnes in CPFC’s final fixture. The step-brother of Isabella Mayson, who was the renowned Mrs Beeton.

Frederick Chappell
An FA Cup winner with Oxford University in 1874, his solitary England appearance came in November 1872.
Alexander Bonsor
Won the first FA Cup with Wanderers in 1872 and scored England’s second-ever goal against Scotland in March 1873.
Charles Alcock (pictured)
The honorary secretary and treasurer of the FA for 25 years, he organised the first football internationals and devised the FA Cup.
John Brockbank
A Cambridge University forward, he won his only England cap against the Scots in November 1872.
Charles Morice
The forward was captain of Barnes when he was selected for England’s first international in 1872.
William Maynard
The First Surrey Rifles man played up front and then in goal in England’s first-ever fixture.
Hubert Heron
He played five times as a forward for England in the 1870s and won three FA Cup winners’ medals.

England’s first-ever captain, the all-round sportsman won the FA Cup with Oxford University.
Morton Peto Betts
Scored the first FA Cup Final goal in 1872 as the Wanderers clinched the trophy and was capped for England in 1877.
Francis Birley
The England international won the FA Cup with Oxford University and twice with the Wanderers.
Ernest Bambridge
Capped for England in 1876, he was the eldest of three brothers who played for their country.
